2007-2008 Ski Season

House Rules - 2007-2008

We've kept the house rules pretty much the same as in previous years with few changes as needed. The rules are not very strict and we only ask that you respect them and enjoy the house as much as possible with everyone else.

1. SCHEDULE

As we have only half-shares this year, everybody is welcome EVERY-OTHER weekend. We will have 2 groups, A & B. We will initially assign you into each of the groups. If you rather be in the other group, please let us know and we will make the arrangements as best as possible to accommodate everyone's wishes. Please check the schedule to see which weeks you are assigned to. ALSO check the weekly Evite to keep track of who's going up. (specially for holidays). If you want to go up on a non-assigned weekend, just check the Evite and make sure the house is not already full. You can then let everyone in that weekend know you're going.

2. BEDROOMS

We have 6 bedrooms with a total of 12 beds that need to be shared fairly. Please sign up on the whiteboard by the kitchen on the bed you've chosen for others who arrive after know what's available. If you are couple, then you can use one of the bigger beds in the house...if you are single, please use one of the smaller beds in the house - simple. Although bedrooms are not to be assigned, you can keep your clothing stored in the closets on your off weeks but we ask that you limit the amount of "stuff" you leave in the closets/dresser as to allow others to use them while you're not there. Please be neat and store away your personal belongings while you're not at the house. Also, if you come up on an off-scheduled weekend, you must allow the other scheduled shares to get their own beds first.

3. GUESTS

If you want to bring a guest, there's a fee required and you MUST first check the Evite to see if the house has space available. If the house looks full for that weekend, please pick a different weekend for your guest. You must AVOID bringing guests on Holidays as these are open to all house members. The same guest can only come up 2 times maximum all season. ANYONE WHO IS NOT A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE IS CONSIDERED A GUEST...this includes but not limited to: Girl/Boy friends, brothers/sisters, siblings, etc. Payment of guest fees will be the responsibility of the house member who invited the guest - we know who you are and where you live. Payment of the guest fees will be expected on-time (i.e. that weekend) or else we will "blanket party" you while you sleep! Although guests pay a fee, they are NOT guaranteed a bed, thus please schedule guests when there's availability in the house. All Guests must be announced in advance either via Evite or via email to us. And under no circumstances, should a Guest be in the house without the supervision and responsibility of the sponsor member.

4. HOLIDAYS

Holidays are open to all shares. Guests should not be invited during holidays as space will be limited. But if guests do show up, there's a "special" holiday rate for them! Holiday sleeping arrangements will be on a first-come basis for all members. Vroom, Vroom....

5. WEEKDAYS

Weekdays are open to all shares. Please notify us in advance if you're planning to visit during the week so we can make the accommodations for the house since it will be kept programmed on a lower setting during the week to conserve energy. Guest fees also apply during the week for your invited guests. We have also instituted what we call the "Alvin" rule. That is, more than 2 weeks consecutively living in the house constitutes for an adjustment in your share fee!

6. CLEAN-UP

Although we will provide general house cleaning services, each member is expected to clean up after themselves specially in the Kitchen, Bedrooms & Bathrooms. There is a washer & dryer in the house to be used for your weekend ski clothes, but please DO NOT bring laundry from home! WARNING: If you leave food, beer, etc. in the kitchen/fridge don't expect it to be there when you go back up on another week...hungry bears have been known to raid the refrigerator when you're not there. When leaving the house, if you're the last out, please take note of the following simple guidelines:

7. MISC

Internet Access - This is provided free-of-charge to all our members and guests. Please scan wireless networks and connect to "The Matterhorn" access point. (assuming your laptop has a wireless card...else, please use the blue network cable provided by the office desk in the top floor)

Smoking - NO smoking in the house. You can smoke outside anywhere you'd like.

Pets - Please let everyone know ahead of time if you're planning to bring a pet. If OK, the pet & owners must follow certain guidelines:

Linens/Bedding - Although we have house sheets, towels & pillows, You may want to bring your own linens instead. Please make sure to remove your used linens from the beds before you leave the house in preparation for the other week's group.

Keys - House keys will be provided to all paid members and will also be available at the house for distribution. There will be a combo lock key box for emergencies only located outside the house. All members are responsible for their own keys and should not allow anyone else the use of their key to enter the house.

Telephone - Local calls ONLY. If you need to make a long distance call, you can use your cell phone, call collect, or use a calling card. Note: If you listen to the answering machine, please remember to write down any messages before you erase them.  Messages should be left on the message board in the kitchen/dining room.

Heat - The house is heated thorough out by baseboard heating. Thermostats control the heat and we ask that you refrain from manually over-riding the settings as these are already pre-programmed for your comfort.

Fireplace - Firewood, paper and lighting is provided next to the fireplace. You can use the log cart for ease of transporting the log from the outdoor wood shack. NOTE: Please do not overload the fireplace with firewood! If you're not familiar with starting a controlled fire, PLEASE DON'T and ask someone experienced to do this for you....you owe them marshmellows now!

Hot Tub - See instructions posted on wall by hot tub. Please cover the hot tub immediately after you are finished – it takes a LONG time, and uses a LOT of electricity, to heat back up if the cover is left off! And please, NO peeing in the hot tub! Nor any sea-monkeys!!!

Media Room - Although we encourage everyone to have a fun time at the house, there will be times when others may be sleeping because its like, uh, 4am....so we ask, that if you are a "late bird", please take your activities into the Media Room and party like its 1999! BE CONSIDERATE to the early risers...after all, some people do like to get up early and go skiing! :)

8. RENTAL AGREEMENT

We expect all our members to adhere to the house Rental Agreement. By joining the house, you agree with all rules stated above and with all terms within Rental Agreement.

Flagrant disregard of the rules above calls for a "Tribal Council" meeting, which may lead to being voted off the mountain...
